‘Suspicious’ incident in Immokalee under investigation

IMMOKALEE, Fla.- Deputies are investigating a report of a stranger attempting to lure children into the woods near the 700 block of Crestview Circle, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office said.

Two children were seeing going into the woods shortly before 8 p.m. Wednesday, but only one was seen coming out of the woods, officials said.

Witnesses reported seeing a white van near Firebush Lane.

Deputies searched the woods but were unable to find a child or a suspect. There are also no reports of missing children in the area, deputies said.

This isn’t the first incident involving a man targeting Immokalee children.
