Car slams into south Fort Myers business, takes off

FORT MYERS, Fla.- The Pink Petunia on Cypress Lake Drive was forced to shut its doors Thursday after a car smashed into the building before taking off.

“It was catastrophic,” said owner Tara Golub. “He came through or she came through with some force, obviously, whoever it was.”

A woman who lives nearby says she saw a black Oldsmobile sedan smash into the building around 2 a.m. before leaving the scene.

The crash is under investigation by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
