FMPD: Disappearance of woman ‘suspicious’

FORT MYERS, Fla.- The disappearance of a 50-year-old woman is considered suspicious, the Fort Myers Police Department said Monday.

Alberta Harris, of 2331 Dupree St., was last seen on Saturday at 9:15 a.m.

Her 2005 silver GMC Yukon, Florida tag 017-PMI, was found Monday in the parking lot of 4135 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. with broken windows, Fort Myers police said.

One of Harris’ daughters, Ebony Harris, said she found her mothers car with blood inside and fears for the worst.

“I don’t know where her whereabouts is at but as me seeing the blood, I don’t want to believe it, I’m trying not to, but it was just too much not to have that in the back of your mind,” said Ebony Harris who is pleading for her mother to return home.

“She is the life of the party. She always kept our games fun, even when we were losing,” said Angie Becker who played softall alongside Alberta Harris. “She loved her family and friends, just an all around great girl.”

Anyone with information on Harris’ whereabouts is asked to call FMPD at 239-321-7700, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS or text message C-R-I-M-E-S (274637), keyword FMPD. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
