FORT MYERS, Fla. – 17-year-old Cole Hicks was cited for careless driving after he failed to stop behind traffic. The crash happened on Buckingham Road just north River Road around 11:30 Saturday morning. Troopers said Hicks failed to stop and hit a car in front of him, pushing that car into another one. Hicks was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The drivers of the other two cars were not hurt. The crash caused backups in the area for several hours.
