Immokalee machete attack victim in fair condition, suspect faces judge

IMMOKALEE, Fla. – A woman who was airlifted to Lee Memorial Hospital after being attacked with a machete on Friday is in fair condition, hospital officials said Monday.

Silvia Casasola-Enriquez, 48, was attacked while inside a home on the 400 block of 15th Street SE.

Albert Zamora, 37, who had his first court appearance on Sunday, remained in the Collier County jail on a $70,000 bond. He is facing charges of aggravated battery – person uses deadly weapon, and aggravated assault with deadly weapon without intent to kill.

Zamora and Casasola-Enriquez live together, but the extent of their relationship has not been disclosed.
