NAPLES, Fla.- A former Naples Police Department officer is accused of lewd and lascivious molestation on two girls under the age of 16.

Ricardo Vazquez, 37, touched the girls inappropriately multiple times while their mother was out working, according to his arrest report.

Vazquez worked as a Naples police officer for five years. He eventually resigned after being disciplined by the police department several times.

Vazquez’s employment file with the City of Naples is filled with multiple disciplinary reports for being late to work, forgetting his gun at home, crashing a patrol car into a cyclist, and taking his wife’s van to an off-duty detail.

His wife is a crime scene technician with the Naples Police Department and did not comment on the charges against her husband.

Since May 2013, Vazquez has worked as a county employee in the Public Utilities Department, Wastewater Division.
