Man found dead in Punta Gorda pond

PUNTA GORDA, Fla. – A man’s body was found in a pond behind the Fountain Court Condominiums near Shreve Street and Airport Road on Sunday in Punta Gorda, police said.

Police arrived to the area around noon and spent about five hours investigating the death, neighbors said.

Investigators did not provide comment about the man’s identity or the nature of their investigation.
