Missing Naples man’s truck found, friends ask for answers

EAST NAPLES, Fla.- The truck of a man missing since the weekend turned up on Thursday, leaving behind more questions than answers.

Behind the Super 8 motel off Collier Boulevard on Thursday, more than two dozen deputies searched a wooded area after a security guard found the purple Ford truck that belonged to Salvador Sanchez.

Authorities did not find the missing man and say his truck was unlocked with a wallet inside. Friends are perplexed as to how his truck ended up behind the hotel.

According to friends, Sanchez parked at the Ace Hardware the night he went missing and walked to Bamboo before ending up at the 8 Ball lounge. He was last seen at the lounge around 10 p.m. on Sunday night.

Sanchez worked for 4J’s Feed and Tack so when he didn’t show up Monday or Tuesday, his boss called deputies to report him missing.

His story has flooded social media sites and has family, friends and strangers looking for him.

“Chava we love you we will find you safe and sound,” said Katherine Curcio. “None of this makes sense, something isn’t adding up. In my heart I believe he is still alive.”

Friends on social media are planning a search party for Sanchez on Sunday in the area where his truck was found.

If you have any information you are asked to call the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.
