Judge sets $95K bond for fake Naples dentist

NAPLES, Fla.- A man accused of performing dental work without a license at his home on Diana Avenue is being held in jail on $95,000 bond.

An arrest report for 53-year-old Juan Marco Flores Orgaz says inside his home was a makeshift dental practice with a reclining chair, pictures of teeth on the wall, drills, syringes and prescription drugs.

A woman who received dental treatment from Flores Orgaz says she and her husband found out about him from a friend at work, called his number and met him at a Walgreens.

They followed him to his home where he gave her four to five injections and tried to pull two teeth from her mouth. Authorities say Flores Orgaz was not wearing gloves.

After at least an hour of excruciating pain, the victim stopped the procedure.

Flores Orgaz told the victim, who ended up with a severe infection from the botched job, not go to the hospital or tell police what had happened, authorities said.

“Nothing in that house surprises me,” said Peggy Sadelfeld who adds she constantly saw cars coming and going from her neighbor’s home.

But Sadelfield says nothing compared to what she saw on Tuesday, “there were a lot of police cars over there and we just watched them go in and out and take some things out of the house.”

WINK News was unable to confirm if Flores Orgaz ever held a dental license in the state of Florida.

Collier County has seen at least two other similar cases since 2012. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement says 38 people were arrested for the crime across the
state in the past five years.
