The couple says Grown will fill a void in the market by offering real food, cooked slow for fast people when it opens next month. Shannon Allen says she’s realized the need for a fast and healthy restaurant as a busy mother of five, including a son with Type 1 diabetes. She says they were constantly living in their car, always on the go and struggling to find healthy fast food options. The restaurant will serve locally-sourced, organic meals priced between $4 and $18. The menu includes small-batch soups, fresh salads, sandwiches and wraps, gluten-free baked goods and made-to-order cold-pressed juices. Grown will also feature full service drive-thru, grab-and-go options and carry-out.
