Red Sox truck heading to Southwest Florida for spring training

BOSTON — The Red Sox equipment truck departs for Southwest Florida for spring training.

The 53 ft. Semi truck will leave Fenway Park at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday and is expected to arrive Friday morning.

It is carrying 20,400 baseballs, 1,100 bats, 200 pairs of batting gloves and helmets, 300 pairs of pants and 60 cases of sunflower seeds.

Red Sox pitchers and catchers report to spring training on February 18. The full team will report on February 24. The first spring training game will be a doubleheader against Boston College and Northeastern on the February 29 at JetBlue Park in Lee County.
