NAPLES, Fla. – A child abuse investigation is underway, according to the Department of Children and Families, after neighbors say a Collier County man tied his daughter to a column on his home and beat her with a belt Sunday.

The young girl has been removed from the Naples home of Michelet Isme, 50, who deputies said was arrested Sunday and charged with one felony count of child abuse without great harm.

She is in the custody of DCF, spokesperson Natalie Harrell said Tuesday.

The relation of the girl to Isme, her age and other information will not be disclosed due to state laws about confidentiality in cases of child abuse.
