FORT MYERS, Fla. – A Pine Run Lane community celebrated the Super Bowl in style Sunday, complete with a field goal kicking contest, live band and a replica Super Bowl 50 field. It is the third year the neighborhood has thrown a block party for the sporting event and neighbors said the celebrations get progressively better. ‘It’s getting a little bigger but it’s always better because now people know what to do when they get here,” one neighbor said. “We just love seeing people come around the corner because the more people the better the party is — the more fun it is.” At Stevie Tomato’s, a mixed crowd of Broncos and Panther fans chowed down on ribs while servers kept the food coming. “We made sure we had extra wings in the house, extra barbecue ready to go with the ribs, lots of drinks on hand and lots of staff on hand, as well,” a server said. The night ended with a victory for the Denver Broncos whose defense shut the North Carolina Panthers out of a Super Bowl 50 win, 24-10.
