MGN LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. – One person is dead after a crash at Leeland Heights Boulevard and Greenwood Avenue around 6:45 p.m, said the Florida Highway Patrol. Maria Ortiz-Fuentes, 19, of Lehigh Acres was killed during the crash. State troopers say Jose Castaneda, 60, of Lehigh Acres was driving westbound in the eastbound land on Leeland Heights, driving into the direction of oncoming traffic. Investigators say Fuentes tried to swerve out of the way but that Castaneda hit the driver side of her car. She died at the scene. Castaneda is in serious condition at Lehigh Hospital.
