FORT MYERS, Fla.- The uncle of a 2-year-old girl injured in an accidental shooting in October turned himself in Monday night, Lee County deputies said. Deputies say Trevon Armstrong, 22, left his loaded gun on the bed inside his Lehigh Acres home on Alabama Road when the toddler grabbed the gun and shot herself in the abdomen. The 2-year-old was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital before being transported to Tampa General Hospital. Armstrong is facing charges of culpable negligence and being a convicted felon in possession of a weapon.
