JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) – The mother of a missing Florida toddler has pleaded guilty to child neglect and another charge, and could be called to testify against her boyfriend who was also arrested after the child’s disappearance.

Office of Regional Conflict Counsel spokesman Shawn Vincent said 26-year-old Lonna Lauramore Barton entered two guilty pleas Wednesday in a Jacksonville courtroom.

She faces up to 6 years in prison for child neglect and lying to a police officer.

Lonzie Barton was 21 months old when he went missing in July. He has not been seen since Barton’s boyfriend William Ruben Ebron Jr. reported him missing.

Ebron, who is scheduled to go on trial next week, is charged with child neglect, lying to a police officer and three counts involving an alleged plot to escape from jail.
