FORT MYERS, Fla. – A brush fire near U.S. 41 and Daniels Parkway caused a power outage to several businesses Sunday afternoon. The fire started around 2 p.m. behind a Starbucks. The flames could be seen in cell phone video climbing up power poles. Electric wiring was damaged in the fire as well. Businesses in Market Square lost power for several hours and were forced to close for the rest of the evening. Florida Power and Light (FPL) responded and replaced a power pole. The power was restored at 7:30 p.m. It’s not clear at this time what caused the fire.
