MGN FORT MYERS, Fla. – U.S. Postal Service carrier Mitch Moskowitz delivers hundreds of packages, letters and Christmas cards around this time of year. His ‘sleigh’ is packed with nearly 500 pieces of letters and packages, and his days are much longer. “I start at 7:30 a.m. and I’ll be done about 6:30 p.m.,” he said. About 50 to 60 packages fill his truck on a normal day, but during the holidays, there are around 150. “The packages take up quite a bit of room,” he said. “”It’s full from floor to ceiling.” The postal service expects 15.5 billion deliveries between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve. “We just want to make sure it’s timely and gets to the right place,” Moskowitz said.
