PUNTA GORDA, Fla. – The Punta Gorda Police Department is now working with Lee County Sheriff’s Office to bring new technology to the murder of a 7-Eleven clerk.

Eighteen-year-old Kyle Farishian’s body was found inside the 7-Eleven on Bal Harbour Boulevard on Nov. 1, after authorities responded to a fire at the store. Officials determined Farishian died from a gunshot wound.

Investigators will now use 3D mapping technology to provide a more accurate analysis of the crime scene and help detectives solve the case.

“As we continue to aggressively pursue Kyle’s murderer, we are grateful to Sheriff Mike Scott for assisting our investigation with this valuable tool. This is yet another example of law enforcement agencies in our area uniting to bring those who prey on others to justice,” said Punta Gorda Interim Chief Tom Lewis stated.

Residents can expect the 7-Eleven’s parking lot to be closed Saturday morning as investigators comb the scene for additional evidence.
