VENICE, Fla.- A man attempted to rob the Bank United located in the Venice Village Shoppes on S. Tamiami Trail Wednesday afternoon. The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office says the suspect entered the bank just after noon, and implied he had a weapon, but none was seen. Witnesses believe the suspect left the bank on foot, but were unsure which direction he headed.
