Authorities say a resident contacted the Cape Coral Police Department after their small dog was taken by a coyote on Thanksgiving night near the 1100 block of Andalusia Boulevard. In Cape Coral, coyotes have been spotted as far south as Beach Parkway/Chiquita Boulevard. Officials would like to remind residents to secure trash cans, and keep small pets inside, especially at night and early in the morning.
