One dead, five others injured after a truck crashes into canal

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- One man is dead and five others are injured after a truck crashed into a canal in Collier County.

The crash happened around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, between Collier Boulevard and 3rd Avenue Northwest.

State troopers say the pick up truck traveling on 3rd Avenue Northwest, failed to obey a traffic control barrier and crashed into a canal.

Investigators say 25-year-old Jeremiah E. Hernandez died at Physicians Regional Hospital. Three others were seriously injured and the remaining two only suffered minor injuries
