Suspect charged in Sievers murder

Published: Updated:

FORT MYERS, Fla.- Curtis “Wayne” Wright has been charged with one count of second-degree murder in the death of a Bonita Springs doctor, Teresa Sievers.

Wright’s attorney filed a motion demanding he be released from jail because state prosecutors did not officially charge Wright after 30 days, which is required by Florida law.

The State Attorney’s Office filed for an extension, and it was granted by a judge Monday. Officials tell WINK News the extension was needed to go through more evidence.

Wright’s next arraignment is set for Nov. 30th.

The second murder suspect, Jimmy Rodgers, is serving six months in federal prison for a parole violation. He will be brought to Lee County after.
