Sievers murder suspect arraignment postponed

LEE COUNTY, Fla.- One of two men accused of killing Bonita Springs doctor Teresa Sievers could get out of jail.

Curtis “Wayne” Wright has been in the Lee County Jail for more than 30 days and the state has not filed formal charges against him yet.

Prosecutors filed for an extension, which would give them another 10 days, until November 23, to file charges. At the same time, Wright’s attorney filed a motion to have his client released from jail. He says he has not received any documents or discovery from the state yet.

Wright was booked in the Lee County Jail October 14. He’s accused of killing the beloved doctor in June. Another man, Jimmy Rogers, was also arrested for her death. He is in federal prison in Missouri serving a sentence for another charge.

Wright is a childhood friend of Sievers’ husband, Mark Sievers.
