GOLDEN GATE, Fla.- A Collier County church carnival ride was shut down by safety inspectors after getting stuck in the air over the weekend, trapping kids on board. After closely inspecting the Side Winder ride, the Department of Agriculture put a red tag on it. The owner says he’s had the ride since 1975 and this is the first time he’s ever had an issue. Four people were stuck on the ride Sunday night and witnesses say they saw a part fall off. Everyone made it off safely. The ride is scheduled at another carnival Friday night and the owner says it will be fixed and back in service by then. The ride is expected to be taken down Monday night.
