ENGLEWOOD, Fla.- Detectives are investigating the theft of a trailer from a business on the 2700 block of Placida Road.

Authorities say the 14 foot, silver 2005 box trailer was taken sometime between 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 10 and about 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11.  The trailer hitch had a padlock on it.

Deputies located surveillance video from nearby businesses, showing two men in a white or silver pickup truck hook the trailer up to the vehicle before leaving the parking lot and heading southbound on Placida Road.

The trailer is described as having an air conditioning unit visible on the top.  It has both a drop rear door and a side door. When it was taken, it had an expired Florida tag number CYIS71 on it.

If you have any information, call the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office at 941-639-2101, or Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 800-780-TIPS (8477).
