New Wal-Mart now open near FMB

FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla.- A new Wal-Mart store is now open near Fort Myers Beach.

The store, on the corner of San Carlos Boulevard and Summerlin Road, has been in the works for years. Nearby residents say they are glad to finally see the doors open.

The 150,000 square foot store will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It has a full grocery store, pharmacy, vision center and year-round beach store.

Managers say they think it will really benefit people who live on Fort Myers Beach or vacation there, because they can get everything they need in one place.

The store held a grand opening Wednesday morning, and made donations to several area charities.

There will be a family fun day on Saturday that will include free food samples.
