Cape Coral Veterans Day parade honors lives lost

CAPE CORAL, Fla.- People dressed in red, white and blue lined Southeast 47th Terrace on Wednesday for the annual Veterans Day parade.

The parade began with a somber reminder of why we gather on this day every year. A moment of silence was held for local man Carl Fields, who was killed while working in Jordan just days ago.

The Cape Coral Police Department led off the parade. Several veterans groups, the American Legion, and other local first responders all followed.

High school bands, JROTC, and girl scouts participated as well. This year’s theme honored female veterans, something many in the crowd say they were happy to see. The Grand Marshals were Renee Duncan and Kimberly Jacobs.
