PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- Charlotte County deputies seized methamphetamine and pills during two separate traffic stops in Port Charlotte on Wednesday.

Ryla Hubbard, 36, and Robinson Pericles, 28, were both arrested and are now facing narcotics charges.

Just before noon, authorities stopped a vehicle near Midway Boulevard and Conway Boulevard after it rolled past a stop bar at the intersection. After the vehicle was pulled over, the deputy saw Hubbard, who was in the back seat, moving around as if she were trying to hide something in her shorts.

When deputies searched Hubbard, they found several baggies of a crystal substance that tested positive for methamphetamine, totaling 19.4 grams.

Hubbard was charged with trafficking and possession of methamphetamine, and intent to sell.

In a separate incident the same day, deputies stopped Pericles for having a suspended driver’s license. When the deputy began to search Pericles, a plastic baggie containing a large number of pills fell out of his shorts onto the ground. The baggie was found to contain 143 Hydromorphone pills and 45 Oxycodone pills, along with a small amount of marijuana.

Pericles was charged with trafficking in hydromorphone, possession of both Hydromorphone and Oxycodone, Possession of Marijuana, and driving on a suspended license.
