LEHIGH ACRES, Fla.- Deputies are investigating a deadly shooting Thursday night near Bowland Lehigh near Homestead Road.

Authorities say 21-year-old Rashawn Myers was found dead inside of a car around 10:40 p.m. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office confirms they are investigating the shooting as a homicide.

Crime scene tape and flashing lights surrounded the parking lot outside the bowling alley between Business Way and Homestead Road, a block away. Shell casings and more than a dozen evidence markers covered the ground.

A third crime scene was centered around a shopping cart in a nearby plaza. As detectives continue searching for clues, those who work in the area are hoping for answers.

“It’s just unreal that it’s so close to stores, buildings. It’s just unreal to see all the casings everywhere,” said Zach Berard, who runs the Save-A-Lot store in the area.

“It just doesn’t seem right around here, I thought it was an accident or something,” said Robert Hawkinson.

“It’s like the wild, wild west out here, like nobody cares about life anymore and it’s sad and scary at the same time,” said Michael Thomas.

The general manager at Bowland Lehigh says those involved in the shooting were never inside the bowling alley, but the business is cooperating with the investigation.
