Suspect arrested in 7-Eleven armed robbery in Lehigh Acres

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. – Benny Lee Stewart has been arrested for an armed robbery at a 7-Eleven in Lehigh Acres on Tuesday night.

Lee County deputies believe he as involved in a carjacking in the WalMart parking lot on Lee Boulevard and then held up the 7-Eleven on Sunshine Blvd.

Witnesses told detectives that the suspect pointed a gun at a customer and then two employees while wearing a black tactical vest.

An off-duty deputy caught up with him later when Stewart asked him for gas money.

He’s being booked into the Lee County Jail.
