Two men sought after Bubble Room Robbery

Published: Updated:

CAPTIVA ISLAND, Fla.- Usually a hidden treasure, The Bubble Room offers guests who make the journey out to Captiva a little slice of paradise.

Monday night, however, it became a target for some quick cash.

Two men were seen breaking into the restaurant Monday night around midnight. They used electric saws to get through the front door, and into the managers office.

The men wore shirts around their faces to disguise themselves, and blue latex gloves.

Surveilance cameras caught the whole thing on video, but when the two finally spotted the cameras, they tried blocking the shot with a coffee mug.

The owner and general manager of The Bubble Room denied our request for an interview.

Ingrid Timm, a loyal customer at the Bubble Room, says she was shocked to hear someone would rob one of her favorite restaurants.

” I hope it doesn’t affect them. But I just can’t understand why anybody would come out to Captiva to rob a restaurant.. there are more options outside,” she said.

Lee County Sheriff’s Office says they are still looking for more information into the robbery, and are asking the public for help.

The men are described as either white or Hispanic, one with a thin build and one with a heavier build.

Anyone with tips on these robbers is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous.

The Sheriff’s Office is also offering a $1,000 dollar reward for information that leads to an arrest in this incident.
