Bubble Room burglars use saws to break into restaurant

Published: Updated:

CAPTIVA, Fla.- Authorities are searching for two burglars who broke into the Bubble Room restaurant earlier this week, stealing a safe, cash and other items.

Shortly after midnight on Monday, surveillance cameras captured two men walking towards the rear door on the third floor of the building, located at 15001 Captiva Drive, carrying electric powered saws.

Authorities say the burglars got inside the building by sawing the main door in half, then proceeded to saw two additional office doors inside in half.

The men were wearing shirts covering their faces and blue rubber gloves on their hands. One of the suspects noticed the camera in the office, and placed a metal coffee tin in front of the lens to block the view.

The men left the restaurant just before 1 a.m. with the safe in tow.

Authorities describe the suspects as either white or Hispanic, one with a thin build and one with a heavier build.
