WESTON, Fla. (AP) – Fire rescue officials say a small plane has crashed in the Florida Everglades, and one person is injured. Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue spokesman Mike Jachles says the multi-passenger plane crashed around 12:30 p.m. Monday in southwest Broward County, west of Fort Lauderdale. Jachles says a news helicopter landed nearby and the crew assisted the injured person. The person was being airlifted to a hospital in Broward County as a trauma alert. There was no word on what caused the crash or whether other people were on board.
