Cape PD investigating report of suspicious person

CAPE CORAL, Fla.- Cape Coral police are investigating a report of a suspicious person near the 1200 block of Southeast 8th Terrace.

Police say a man attempted twice to get a child to enter his car as the victim was walking to school Friday morning.

“This is a scary situation and now that I know this, now I’m going to be even further on alert,” said resident Mark Donaldson.

Some parents meet their kids at the bus stop to ensure they get to and from school safely, but not all parents say they have that luxuary.

“A lot of people can’t stop and drop things to take their kids to school, so they have to just make sure that their kids are aware,” said David Gache.

Police describe the suspect as a black male with dreadlocks and tattoos, driving a silver older-model four-door vehicle with a tan interior.
