SARASOTA, Fla. – The mother of Chance Walsh arrived at the Sarasota County Jail late Friday night and, according to the jail website, now faces a homicide charge.

Kristen Bury, 32, exited an unmarked transport van in handcuffs around 10:45pm. She was brought to Sarasota from South Carolina.

Bury faces child neglect charges for the disappearance of her 9-week-old son Chance, who was last seen alive at the family’s North Port home September 9.

Thursday, Sarasota County Sheriff’s deputies found the body of an infant believed to be that of Chance in a wooded area 13 miles from the home.

Bury will make her first appearance before a Sarasota County judge Saturday morning.

Chance’s father, Joseph Walsh, 36, also faces child neglect charges. He is currently in jail in South Carolina awaiting extradition.

This is a developing story, check back for updates.
