FORT MYERS, Fla.- A man accused of attempting to steal more than $120 worth of meat from a south Fort Myers Target store has now been identified. Lee County authorities are searching for 27-year-old Eric Daniels in connection to the theft at the Target located at 13711 S. Tamiami Trail. Officials say Daniels is also a suspect in a robbery Thursday at the CVS store, located at 12255 S. Cleveland Avenue. Employees say Daniels entered the store around 3:30 p.m. and picked up several bottles of laundry soap and shampoo, before leaving the store without paying for the items. Witnesses saw Daniels leave on a bicycle northbound on U.S. 41. Daniels is a repeat offender with 39 previous bookings in the Lee County Jail since 1999. He also has a criminal history in Collier County. Authorities say Daniels is believed to be staying in the Pine Manor area. If you have any information, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).
