GOLDEN GATE, Fla.- A 49-year-old man is under arrest in connection with a series of suspicious incidents in Golden Gate earlier this year, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office said. Manuel Martinez Campos was arrested Friday and charged with indecent exposure. Detectives say Campos confessed to exposing himself to a 35-year-old woman on July 8. The victim told detectives that she was in the alley behind her residence on Tropicana Boulevard when a man in a red car slowed down and stared at her as he drove by. The victim says she noticed the man was fondling his genitals when she looked inside the car. The woman quickly went back inside her home and saw the car circling around her house. She was able to write down the car’s license plate number which authorities used to track down Campos. At the time, detectives attempted to identify Campos as a suspect through a photo lineup, but authorities say the victim did not want to cooperate. Collier County deputies began investigating additional reports of a suspicious man in a red car in September when multiple teens claimed a man in a red car tried luring them in.
