Masked man steals woman’s purse in Lehigh Acres

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla.- A masked man wearing all black attacked a woman during an attempt to steal her purse, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said.

The robbery happened on Joel Boulevard in Lehigh Acres just before 10 p.m. on Wednesday.

Deputies say the suspect grabbed the victim’s purse from her shoulder as she getting into her car. When the woman tried to fight back, the suspect pulled her to the ground and began kicking her, authorities said. The victim then let go of her purse and the suspect ran away.

The suspect is described as a young black male, possibly between 18-22 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches tall, and medium to heavy set. He was wearing all black clothing, with a hooded black sweatshirt and a mask covering his mouth and nose.

Authorities say there’s is no video or images of a suspect at this time.
