LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Authorities are searching for a man who tried to steal more than $120 of meat from a Target, but bailed on the beef when loss prevention officers chased after him.

Just after 1 p.m. on Tuesday, the suspect loaded up basket at the Target store located at 13711 S. Tamiami Trail with several pounds of pork chops, sirloin and other beef.

Authorities say the suspect walked out the door with the food and eventually dropped the basket while running away from loss prevention officers who chased after him.

A teal Magna mountain bike was found abandoned nearby, and may have assisted in the suspect’s getaway.

The man is described as being between 5’5″, and 5’8″, with a thin build, long dreadlocks and no shoes.
