Man arrested in fatal shooting of Orlando hotel employee

ORLANDO, Fla.- A man with ties to Southwest Florida is behind bars in Orange County accused of murder.

Mathnald Dareus, 37, is accused of shooting and killing a man in a parking garage at the Hyatt Regency Orlando.

Authorities say the victim, Cedilien Forestal, 49, was found shot to death in his car.

Detectives believe Forestal, an employee of the hotel, was targeted and was not a victim of a random shooting.

Dareus is the husband of Marie Delly, a Golden Gate woman who has been missing since 2010. Now, her family is hoping Dareus’ arrest may provide new insight into the case.

Delly was last seen leaving work at a Wal-Mart in East Naples. Detectives say surveillance video shows a car leaving the parking lot around the same time she left. A similar car was spotted going through a toll both at mile marker 101 headed towards Miami.

Days later, Delly’s husband reported her missing. The Collier County Sheriff’s Office says detectives have never ruled Dareus out as a suspect his wife’s disappearance.

“What I subsequently learned is that there had been a history in the past that whenever Marie and her husband were having marital difficulties, where she would take off for a couple days and not tell him where she was going. But, she would always tell her family and their children. However, in this particular incident, she didn’t tell anyone including her family and children,” said Detective Peterson.

Delly’s sister says she has not talked to Dareus in years. The sheriff’s office says they will continue to investigate what happened to Delly.
