New teen party planned for Cape Coral

CAPE CORAL, Fla.- He’s back and ready to make another splash.

Travis Williams, better known as Lil’ Trav, is promoting another event in Cape Coral. His last party at Sun Splash Family Waterpark made some waves with residents complaining about thumping noise and security issues.

Williams is negotiating with Cape Coral to hold a “Splash in Paint” concert on a city-owned parking lot at Sun Splash.

“It’s like watery paint, which will go out on the kids,” said Williams. “It’s today’s generation.”

Some people claim Williams’ last party, several months ago, was out of control. But the city believes the problems were actually minor and can be solved this second time around. Cape Coral says it will be extra-demanding about security but Williams is remaining positive.

Residents have differing views on the upcoming party.

“I think that is idiotic. I don’t think it’s becoming of a lovely community of Cape Coral,” said Bob Henderson.

“The city has young people, it’s not just old people. Not everything should be old people,” said another resident.

“I might be an old fuddy-duddy, but I don’t think so. I think that kids should have a cleaner kind of activity,” said Sandy Rabe.

Williams says he hopes to draw 3,000 people to the concert which will feature the artist iHeartMemphis. The concert is supposed to be Saturday, Nov. 21. Williams is working out the rental fee, insurance, security, and other details with Cape Coral. No alcohol will be sold at the event and coolers will not be allowed in.
