Sievers murder suspect waives extradition to FL

FORT MYERS, Fla.- One of the men accused of murdering Dr. Teresa Sievers will be brought back to Florida.

Wayne Wright waived his extradition at a hearing Wednesday afternoon in Jefferson County, Missouri. Wright has been in jail since the end of August, facing second degree charges in Sievers’ death.

The Lee County  Sheriff’s Office tells WINK News they do not know at this time when Wright will be extradited to Florida.

Wright and a second murder suspect, Jimmy Rodgers, were both seen at a Wal-Mart on Six Mile Cypress Parkway in south Fort Myers the day before Sievers’ body was found in her Bonita Springs home. Wright is also a childhood friend of Sievers’ husband, Mark Sievers. At this time, Mark Sievers has not been named as a suspect.

Rodgers, a known associate of Wright’s, is currently serving a six month sentence in Missouri for violating his probation by leaving the state of Missouri. Lee County Sheriff Mike Scott told WINK News earlier this month that its possible Rodgers could be brought to a Florida federal prison to complete his sentence.
