CAPE CORAL, Fla.- An unmarked Lee County Sheriff’s Office vehicle caught fire outside a Cape Coral home early Wednesday morning. Fire investigators say the fire was not intentional, and likely started in the engine, either electrical or mechanical in nature. No one was injured, but another car on the driveway had some minor damage. The homeowners say they woke up to Cape Coral police knocking on their door, telling them the car was on fire. They say a neighbor called 911 to report what sounded like gunshots. When police responded to the call on Van Buren Parkway around 2 a.m., they found the car on fire.
