Naples homes damaged during storms

EAST NAPLES, Fla. – Several homes suffered damage in a mobile home park off of Radio Road and Cape Sable Drive.

Residents say a gust of wind from Tuesday’s storm tore roofs off homes and ripped mailboxes out of the ground at the Cape Sable Lakes community.

A spokeswoman for the homeowners association says it took her three hours to get in touch with a homeowner whose roof wound up in two pieces. She is now working on getting a tarp on the roof and getting someone out there to clean up the debris.

A nearby Windjammer Village resident says debris landed in her front yard.

“It scared me because I heard it hit,” said Susan Alden. “I was here during Wilma and this was as bad as Wilma.”

Many of the community’s residents are seasonal and are just now finding out about the storm. Some residents are now calling to check up on their properties.
