FORT MYERS, Fla. – A 33-year-old man was arrested Monday in connection with a fatal shooting outside a 7-Eleven on Sunday, Fort Myers police said Tuesday.

Oscar Crespo-Rodriguez, of Cape Coral, is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Eddie Alberto Martinez, 40. Crespo-Rodriguez remained in the Lee County jail Tuesday under no bond.

The shooting stemmed from a previous altercation at Suggar’s Restaurant and Lounge, police said. Martinez was trying to break up a fight outside the 7-Eleven on the 5300 block of Cleveland Avenue when he was shot, a witness said.

Rodriguez was arrested at a residence in San Carlos Park, police said.
