Budweiser Clydesdales return to Fort Myers

FORT MYERS, Fla.- The world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales will make several appearances in Southwest Florida this week.

The horses arrive in Fort Myers on Tuesday and will be stabled at 2238 Edwards Dr. Residents can visit the animals from Sept. 23- Sept. 27, from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.

The horses chosen to be a Budweiser Clydesdale generally stand at 18 hands, or 6 feet, at the shoulder, and weigh an average of 2,000 pounds. A single Clydesdale hitch horse consumes as much as 20-25 quarts of feed, 40-50 pounds of hay and 30 gallons of water per day.
