FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Lee County School Board will meet next month to discuss a national search for a superintendent. Interim Superintendent Gregory Adkins sent a letter home to all families Friday night announcing the board’s intentions. In the letter it states the board will meet on October 16 and 17 to discuss the search for a superintendent and long-term interim superintendent. The times and location are not yet set for the meeting, but Adkins said they will notify parents when they have that information. “In the meantime, I have the distinct honor of serving as your Superintendent. In my 27 years with the district, I have served many roles- Teacher, Principal, Chief Human Resource Officer, and most recently, the Assistant Superintendent of Operations. I want to assure you that the district is full of equally committed professionals, dedicated to the success of your child,” Adkins wrote in the letter.
