Suspect in Sievers murder linked to 1996 disappearance case

FORT MYERS, Fla.- One of the suspects in the murder of Bonita Springs Dr. Teresa Sievers is linked to another investigation in the mysterious disappearance of a minister.

Wayne Wright, the childhood friend of Sievers’ husband, is waiting to be extradited from Missouri to Lee County. Detectives in Jefferson County, Missouri confirm Wright is an active person of interest in the 1996 disappearance of Ronnie Bolin, a minister he was known to hang around with.

Bolin was last seen and heard from in July 1996 when his car was found abandoned in St. Louis. The driver’s door was open and keys still inside.

Bolin was a former minister, and worked in computers at the time he disappeared. Detectives say Wright has been a person of interest in Bolin’s case since it started in 1996. Wright was originally questioned in the case, but detectives would not comment on whether he denied any involvement.

The lead detective in Bolin’s case says he knew he had to pay another visit to Wright the moment he learned of Wright’s arrest in the Sievers murder case.

Wright will appear before a Jefferson County judge on Tuesday. His attorney is asking for bond to be set.

Last week, Governor Rick Scott signed an extradition warrant, asking for Wright to be transferred to Lee County.
