Some Lee school board members favor national search for supt.

FORT MYERS, Fla.- At least two members of the Lee County School Board are favoring a national search for a new superintendent.

This follows the sudden resignation of Dr. Nancy Graham on Tuesday evening.

Some board members spoke in support of Graham. She had faced an investigation into a testing issue at Dunbar Community School but that investigation now will be dropped.

That led to criticism from Chris Quackenbush, who is running for school board in 2016.  She says the board should follow through with the investigation and reveal details to the public.

The board meets next Tuesday to map out a path for the future in terms of a search for a new superintendent, and a possible interim superintendent. Graham plans to remain as superintendent until December 21.
